Its a dreary day today. So I thought I would make a few card backs so that if the need arose I could just finish up the card and send it off. Well one thing lead to another and I finished all but one. Not much stamping was done on these. Some of them not at all. Just some really pretty papers from a 6" x 6" paper stack called Botanical Collection.

Hambo Hoedown Birthday Bash

This week Hambo Hoedown is celebrating thier one year anniversary. And to celebrate they are using Bailey's image. It is called Bailey Cupcake. Bailey is their dog. He is a cute little guy. It is a progressive challenge. If you play this week then they will send you next weeks image free. Its such a good way to get a lot of free digital images. For my card I printed the image of Baliey Cupcake on Mohawk paper. I colored it with Copic Markers. The designer paper I used is from Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers 6x6 paper pad. I love this paper. I used my Spellbinders to cut out the ovals and the sentiment. I added a little 3D Crystal Lacquer to the bones and also to his dog tag. I made this card size A6 (4.75" x 6.5") so it is a little bigger than my normal A2 (4.25" x 5.5") size. I am starting to like this size more. Sense it is a larger size you can use the large Spellbinders dies easier. The brown mat was made using my copic markers. I didn't have the shade brown I needed so I took a sheet of white cut to size and colored the edges. I had seen this on another site and thought it was a good idea and by gosh it worked.

I have been busy trying to catch up on some birthdays I missed. Boys, how did I do that. Truthfully it wasn't that hard. The top one is for my friend Kathy, The cake one was for my sister in law and the bottom one is for another friend named Dawnmarie. These were all digital images I got from Designed 2 Delight. I colored them with copics and added a few sparklies. The one with the cake has digital paper in the background.

Camping Album

This is an album that I made using Laura Denison's directions from Following the Paper Trail on U Stream. I have been trying to post this all day and finally it dawned on me that maybe it was too long. So I quickly did a shortened version and hopefully it will post. The small pockets are made with kraft cardstock and the large pages are made using 9 x 12" envelopes cut to the size of the album. The paper I used is now discontinued from Bo Bunny. It is called U Bug Me. I made this album to store the pictures of my grandsons while they were camping. I can't wait to get it loaded with pictures and journaling.

The Queen's Ink Holiday Challenge

The Queen's Ink in Savage MD has put out a challenge. We are to make an art project using the little houses that they supplied. It was inspired by a recent issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors and Ink About It. So they want to build a little village of houses to docorate their shop. This is my little house. My craft room is just covered with glitter and you probably can see why. lol

Zentangle class

This past weekend I took a Zentangle class at the Queens Ink in Savage Mills with my friend Mary (http://mystampinhide-away.blogspot.com/) . It was more than I expected. I really didn't think I would be able to do it. They look so complicated. But like anything else once you break it down into steps it was a lot easier than it looks. Patti gave great directions on how to do each pattern. All you had to do is figure out where you wanted to put each pattern on your tile (the 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" inch piece of paper you draw on) I was looking at the Zentangle.com site and they actually sell a 20 sided numbered die that corresponds to a card with 20 patterns on it so if you get stuck all you have to do is roll the die. lol Maybe I need to look into that some more. I tried adding color to one but I think I like the black and white ones better.

My creation depicts the song Thank God I am a Country Boy by John Denver. I used the digi image called Bear Farmer and the background digi called Farm. I used my Copics to color all the images. The papers I used is from a 6" x 6" tablet called Oxford by Basic Grey. These are great papers. Lots you could use on a masculine card. Of couse you could use this as a masculine card if you didn't apply the paper lace on the bottom which by the way was cut using a die from Marianne Creatables.

Hambo Hoedown 32

When I think of Autumn I think of browns, oranges, yellows and reds, so this week at the Hambo Hoedown I did a card in oranges and yellows because we were to do a card in Autumn hues. They supplied us with three flower images to make the card with. I took those three images and using my Photoshop program, separated them and made a little cluster of flowers. They kind of remind me of Cone Flowers. I put happpy little faces on them with a sentiment that says "You make me Smile." My card is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" card. I added a decorative paper as a background from a 6" x 6" tablet called the Forever Fall Collection by BoBunny. You should come play with us. Today at Hambo Hoedown we were to create a card with demension. No flat cards. Well I don't know if this is going to qualify or not but I have raised the spaceship up on foam dots. So it really isn't flat. I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to cover all of the space ship. He is shinnning. I love this little image. And can see me using it a lot. The little village is a Christmas image. It is a stamp from Great Impressions. Hopefully it doesn't look too Christmassy. I brayered the sky and made more stars using one of my Stamps by Judith stubbies. All in all it was a really fun card to make.

I finally got Dylans quilt finished. I had it quilted at Tomorrows Treasures with stars and swirls. They did a great job. He was pretty happy with it. I decided to bind it with the same material as the border. It had a lot going on. Here are a few pictures.

Finally I am getting around to do another Hambo Hoedown challenge. This geranium image is so pretty. I used my Photoshop program and added a few more of them. If one is good than three must be great, right? I used my Copic's to color the image. I tried to match the Pretty in Pink card stock from Stampin Up. I think I got pretty close. I used my Score It to make my score lines. Hope you can see them. I kind of covered them up with the bow which I made with my bow easy. Anyway they are in the upper right corner. All in all I thought it came out pretty good. This will be sent to my friend who is in the hospital with her legs amputated. She has diabetes and she needs a little cheering up.

Nicoles Bridal Shower Card

I am not sure who makes this stamp that I used on this Bridal shower card. All it says on the side of the stamp s G-3287 Santa Rosa CA. I have had the stamp forever and this was the first time I used it. The card is an A7 card measuring 5 x 6.5". I really like this size card. It gives you so much more room to work with than an A2 card. I tried my hand at making a double bow. So much for that. lol. Guess I need a little pratice. The background paper is from American Crafts called The goods. I love this paper and if I could remember where I got it I would probably get more. So I better use it sparingly because there is no more. The pink is Pretty in Pink from Stampin Up. I used another of my favorite tools and that is the Martha Stewart border punch. I just love her punches. I got the flower from a company in Europe and the die cut is from Marianne Designs. It is one of her Creatables. I hope you enjoy this card as much as I did making it.

Just playing around and came up with this card. The background paper was 6 x 6 so I had to cut it to fit on a 6 x 4.5 card and still have the border around it. Then when I got it placed on the card I didn't like the fact that I could see the little line where I glued it together. So out came the stickles. I think it hid the slit pretty well. The stamp I used is an art stamp by Loralie Designs. She has such fun images. They are pretty plain and you can add what you want to them--Like the design in her skirt, and the polka dots on her blouse. You get the picture. On her blog she tells us that she never cuts her stamps apart. She stamps the images (they come on a sheet of rubber) scans them and then prints them out when she wants to use them. This way she can make them any size she wants. What a great idea. I wish I had done this to a lot of my stamps. I don't know how much time I have spent cutting and mounting and now I end up with a lot of little stamps and a lot of space taken up in my craft room. Enjoy the card. It was fun to color.

I am so far behind in posting my cards. Its time to do what they say "Get r done". This is a card I made for Mary (http://mystampinhide-away.blogspot.com/) I was really pleased with the way it came out. I wanted to do something special because she is such a special person.

I don't think you could do one of these cards without a stamp a ma jig. I guess if you wanted to cut and paste it you could, but thats not what I wanted to do. And believe me I did a few before I finally got one that I thought was right. I really like doing these cards even though they are a PITA. lol

While having a wonderful time at Kathi's barbeque we were talking about a card that we saw at Great Scraps in Millersville MD. They had used a Hero's Art stamp. This card reminded me so much of the cards that http://www.outlinesrubberstamp.com/ does. Matter-of-fact when I first saw it I thought it was an Outline Stamp but it was a Hero Art stamp called Layered Flowers. So I had to try it. One year at Christmas I made all my Christmas cards using an Outline Stamp that is a Christmas Ball. I embossed, cut and layered until I could do it no more. It was a lot of fun tho a lot of work. So this is my take on the card we saw. I can't remember the details except for the layered flowers.

Last weekend, as an early birthday gift, Mom (aka Gloria) took me to a class with Michelle Zindorf. Well that's all it took....I'm in love with a new technique...BRAYERING!

Love is like a butterfly

This card I made just so I could try out the new die that I got from Joans Gardens. I know you are expecting me to say I love it. Seems like I just love everything about stamping. Well, I do. lol The oval with the flowers around it is a case from Linda Duke. Gosh, she makes beautiful cards. I got the flowers all colored with copics and then was pleased with the way I got them glued on, then what do I do--Glue the whole thing on at an angle. Can you believe that?? Well, there was no taking it apart because of the type of glue I used so I guess it is going to stay that way. The card measures 5 x 6 3/4". I usually make the A4 size but this larger size is really growing on me.

One of the girls that I stamp with is sick and so I made a card for her. I love this image from Flourishes. They make the most beautiful stamps. This stamp set is called Spring Has Sprung. The cardstock is soft suede from Stampin Up. The designer paper is from a 6 x 6" tablet called Botanical by Prima Marketing. I cut a few swirls with my cricut to paste under the Spellbinders lables. Not sure I care all that much for the pearls. I think it would be better with some gold brads or something a little darker in color. I just might change that. But all and all I am pretty happy with the way it came out.

Dylan's Quilt

Today I started a quilt for Dylan. He wanted a Star Wars Quilt. I have looked everywheres and I can't find any Star Wars material. The closest I could find was material that had the solar system on it. He seems happy with it so far. I think it will turn out ok. I plan to put a narrow black border around it and then a larger one out of the material with the solar system on it. Not sure yet what I will bind it with. This quilt is called a dissapearing nine block. It is a lot easier than it looks. Do you think it is bright enough? lol

I had to make a get well card and I thought that this Stamp by Judith fit the bill. I just love this pig. He just looks so down. lol I colored the image with copics after I stamped it in Memento Ink. The paper I used is Mohawk Bright white. It is so much like the Stampin Up White. It has a real smooth texture and is just a dream to stamp and color with Copics on. The pink paper in the background is from a tablet called Sweet Nectar by K & Company.

Here is my Hoedown card for this week. I love this pig and I can see me using it again. I made a slider pop up card. I haven't made one of these in a long time. I printed the image on Mohawk bright white paper. I love using that paper with Copics. I can get a good blend with it. His jail cell bars is a bird cage that I cut with my Cricket and then cut the top and bottom off. Sometimes I just amaze myself. he he. So, where's my ribbon or twine you ask. Well I kind of played with the challenge and used my tag pull for the ribbon. I know I am so bad. Like always I enjoyed this one. These challenges make me think and try different things. As everyone knows, I have been dabbling in sewing. This is a beach bag that my daughter-in-law wanted me to make for her. It is a huge bag. Thats a 34 inch door. The inside is lined with a nylon waterproof fabric. The same as the orange on the outside. The orange on the outside is pockets and the inside is lined with pockets all the way around. It was a bear to do because of the thickness of the material, especially sewing the straps onto the body of the bag. But I "Gotter done" If I had had my new machine when I started I would have done a better job. It sews through anything. Love it!!!

I have to tell you I have a neighbor that does the most amazing things with paper and anything else she can find. I have things made from metal that she has made and lots of paper art. Yesterday she shows up with this great tag that she made. I just love this art and wish from the bottom of my heart that I could do it. She always says "Oh, you can do it" No, I wouldn't know even where to start. Anyway I would want it to look like hers and you know it wouldn't. I just thought I would share this beautiful piece. Cards for a Bridal Shower and Flower Girl

A woman who works with a friend asked me to make a couple cards for a Bridal Shower. I completely cased these from another site and now I can't remember who's it was. I am so sorry for this. The images are from Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored the images with copics. I really liked the way these came out.

Crafty Secrets and Crackle

I bought some Crackle Accents from Inkssentials some time back and didn't use it. That is until now. I had made this card and thought it looked pretty good. Kind of like a cameo with the glossy accents on it and the more I looked at it I thought why not try to crack it. Heck why not try the Crackle accents. I made another card and used the crackle accents and sure enough it cracked. Maybe a little too much. lol I then inked it with Distress Ink called Old paper. The image is one from a set I got from Crafty Secrets called Garden Girls that I colored with chalks. It has so many cute images. Linda Duke uses these stamps and her things are so beautiful so when I see hers I think "I can do that" Ya, right. I get some cool stamps that way though.

I colored it with my copics and the paper is from a 6x6 pad called Sweet threads b y Basic Grey. I put some purple paper behind it so you could see the card better.

Hambo Hoedown 20

Its Hambo Hoedown time again. This time we were to use red and teal and our choice of white, ivory or kraft. Really, my paper looked red until I stuck that teal ribbon on it and now it looks pink. Whats with that. lol This is a really cute image. I layered it in three levels. It really pops in the truest sense of the word. Its that time of the week again and guess what---Woo Hoo I am queen of the Hoedown. Thank you Hambo. I am so honored. For this week we had a sketch to follow. Fun, That sure makes it easy. For my card I used some digital papers with little fishes because we have a lot of fishermen around here and Father's Day is just around the cornor. Yippy skippy one card done!!! I got the paper from a site called cadsdaypapers. I just printed it out 1/4 page size for the background paper and made it really small for the tie. It took me forever and a day to figure out how to do the word circle on Microsoft Word 2010. Not sure now I could find my way back to do another. Geez, why do they have to keep changing everything. For the horizonal piece of paper I used a ribbon. Hope that qualifies. Everything else is just about the same. Enjoy. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done. Finally made a card. It has been a while but who could resist doing a card with this sweet image. It is the Hamboe Hoedown! We were to use buttons on this challenge. And there they are, for all the world to see. The paper I used on this card is from a new pack I just got. It is called Kitschy Kitchen by Melissa Frances. I just got it yesterday and couldn't wait to make something with it. I got it from a site called "A Cherry on Top" It has recipe cards and several other things like tags to go with it. Hambo Hoedown #15

Here is the challenge for Hambo Hoedown -- we are to use bright colors and paper piecing. I love to paper piece. I had never done paper piecing with a digital image before and it was really easy. Why did I think it wouldn't be?? Just print it on designer paper and cut. Couldn't be easier. I colored the rest of the card with my Copics. They give the richest colors. I added a little 3D Crystal Lacquer to the hearts and added Crystal stickles to the striped lines above the hearts. It added a little bling. I really enjoy these Hambo Challenges. Farm Chicken

I didn't get my card in on time for the Hambo Hoedown but thought I would post it anyway. We were to use the Farm Chicken with dots and strips. When I looked at this chicken's face all I could imagine is the faces on the picture of American Gothic by Grant Wood. So I opened my Photoshop Elements and got to work trying to make something similar. I am not too good with this program so it took a while but I think I kind of captured it. lol Then I tried to figure out a catchy name that sounded similar but try as I could I couldn't think of a thing. All the images on this card are by Hambo even the church in the background. I colored them with Copics and did a little shading with Prisma colored pencils. Of course there is my sponged clouds. They seem to becoming a standard in my card making. lol

Hambo Hoedown

Well, I made it back from up north just in time for another Hoedown. Thank you everyone for the well wishes.

This week we are honoring special women in our lives. This card has to have lace and flowers on it to be able to be entered into the challenge. This is right up my alley. I love anything that glitters, has lace or flowers. Although this took me a while, I was having trouble with colors. I had way to much pink.

On this card I used a new die called High Tea Party Doily. It is from My Favorite Things. I love these new intricate dies. I have several and this is one of my favorites. The image was printed on Mohawk Bright White cover paper. I have really good luck with Copics on this type of paper. The flowers are from my stash and same with the designer paper. I punched the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and used Stickles to give them a little bling. I used oval Nesties to cut out the images. Added a few pearls and I was done. Thanks for coming to see my card. Penguin Bunny

Its Hambo Hoedown time again and this time the challenge is to use an Easel card. I have been wanting to try making an Easel card with a Twist so this was the perfect time to try. As always if you click on the title of this post it will take you to the challenge. While I was playing I decided to try this on my Photoshop Elements program. I hadn't used it for a while and was a little rusty. After downloading the background paper and a few elements, I downloaded the Penguin Bunny. I used the magic wand to cut him out. (I wondered if I could do that. Yea! for me. ) I added some shadows to make it look like it was popped up. Printed it out and used my Copics to color him in. Then I added a few stamped images (hearts) the stems and leaves I drew in, cut out butterflys, and glossied up and stickled the flower hearts. I finally added a little flower soft to his ears and tail . I guess this would be a Hybrid project. Thanks for coming to look at my card. I really enjoy the comments.

I recently got a design from http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/. It is a swan made with a flower punch. It looks really difficult at first but it is so easy to do. I even cased her card. I am such a copier. Anyway I really loved this swan when I saw her card and couldn't wait to do it. So here you go. The leaves are a die I bought from http://www.mariannedesign.nl/. The flowers are a stamp from Purple daisy designs. She is amish so you would have to call her to order. Telephone number is 717-597-8803. What is so great about these stamps is that you can use a five petal punch to punch them out. The purple paper is from Stampin Up that I embossed using an Cuttlebug embossing folder and I outlined the blocks of paper with my Gold leaf pen. The doily is a die I got from www.Cheerylynndesigns.com. They will even make a custom made die for any of your stamps. How great is that.

These two cards are a total case from the display at Photo Scraps of Darcie's stamps. I just loved doing the tissue paper at the bottom. I just ran some red line tape across the back bottom of the panel and then once I tore my tissue paper in a one inch strip, I just pleated it across the width of the panel. Such an easy element to do. I enjoyed making these cards so much that I made 5 of them. lol The ink is sponged on the images. I cut everything out and mounted it on the card with foam tape. Quick and cute---My kind of card. lol

This is a card made with an image from LoralieDesigns.com. I just discovered her. What fabulous stamps. Not just stamps but fabric as well. So cute. I colored this image with Copic markers, added some bling, raised it up on foam tape and she was ready to go shopping. The background paper is from Stampin Up. It is in their new spring catalog. Such pretty papers in this pack. The word "Hello" is from Whipper Snapper Designs. They are another favorite stamp company of mine.

Look at that Theresa beating me with her card!!! I almost forgot it. I got some new rubber this weekend and I was playing with it. This digi was so easy to color. I love these little images because they are so simply drawn that you can do anything with them. The card just about makes itself. This week we were suppose to use bright pink and green. Really springy. As it so happened I had those colors already out making Easter cards. I think this one is going to go to my sister in law. It will brighten up her day. Yes, I am an New Englander. I was born so far north that I could have been french.
Matter of fact my mother is french. She was an orphan and raised in a catholic orphanage. She had eight sisters and one brother. When her parents died they placed them all in farms around the area. When Mom's foster father passed away, her foster mom couldn't keep her so she ended up in a orphanage. When she got older she worked for the priest. Her sisters contacted the priest and asked if she could come to Maine to live with them. She remembers crossing the St John River in the winter in the back of a sleigh. She said she remembers seeing water fill the tracks of the sleigh as they were crossing. Once in Maine she met and married my father
They had 12 children. Yes, I am one of 12---6 boys and 6 girls
I have three children--two girls and one boy
I have two grandchildren--both boys. They are the delight of my life and I babyset them daily.

High Hopes Stamps Challenge

Here I am trying another Challenge. This one is for High Hope Stamps. The challenge is to use fabric on a card. Ribbon doesn't count and you have to use a High Hope stamp. Their stamps are so cute it is hard to decide which one to use. Sense it is almost Easter, I thought a cute little bunny holding a present of an egg would work. The fabric I used is my background. I had a piece of pink gingham so it went on the card. I used a piece of tacky paper to stick the material down on before it went on the Almost Amethyst cardstock. Then I ran both through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder to keep the edges of it down. The image is colored with Copics. Pearls and Ribbon was added to dress it up a little. The card is a little bigger than the A2 cards that I usually make. This one is an A6 size (4.75" x 6.5")

This is a challenge for Use It Tuesday ( http://www.useittuesday.blogspot.com/) We are suppose to use something that we haven't used in forever or something that we have been hoarding. Also the card has to be red. According to the number of cards that they get, they will make a donation to the Japanese Red Cross. Well, I have had these stamps forever. I think I bought them when I first started stamping and never used them. Also the background paper I have had forever and never used it. I really loved this paper and don't know why I never used it. I guess I was waiting for a special occasion. I had some origami paper that I have as long as everything else so I paper pieced their clothes. So now why is one's skin darker than the rest. Guess she took a vacation to Hawaii.

This is my card for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge this week. Here is a link to the site. http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/ The papers are from a paper stack called "All About Boys" from DCWV. Cute papers. I used a sheet that had a border across the bottom, cut it off and then cut it up to use as elements on my card. I colored the elephant with Copic markers, cut him out and used mounting tape to pop him up. I am really enjoying these challenges and as long as you continue to play they will send you a free digi each week. Come and play with us.

This is for the Hambo Hoedown (http://www.hambostamps.com/ ) . We were to use the digi image and gold on our card. If I had read the directions better I would have had more gold on my card. There is some but not a lot. I love those Hambo images and this was a fun one to work with. I used a digital paper for the background. I sponged some clouds with Stampin Up Bashful Blue and also sponged a rainbow using a cut circle. The image was colored with copics and a glaze pen was used on the gold coins. The shamrock on his hat was first colored with a Copic marker and then with a glitter pen. Sense you always see leprechaun's with a beard I thought I would try to make a beard on him with a dark brown. How did I do??

While I was at the Scrapbooking Weekend I did a couple shadow boxes. I was very pleased with how they came out. The one with the fish is pictures of my nephew and his son. I made a rectangle with a strip of transparent vellum and used it under the fish to make them stand out away from the designer paper and add more depth. My sister, Nina, wanted it so it will be on its way to Maine soon.

The other one is for my other sister, Linda. It has a picture of she and I when we were just little. I had the photo retouched at Severna Park Photo. Believe me when I say they didn't have much to work with. The photo is one that came out of a machine way back in the day. It has scratches and chunks taken out of it. The size of the original photo is 1 1/2 by 2. I think I look a little evil. Especially my eyes. But like I said they didn't have much to work with. So they did a great job considering that.

Just got back from Ocean City MD. We had a Scrapbooking Weekend. What great fun. This is a little card that I did while I was there for the Hambo Hoedown. What fun images they have. If you like digital images this is the place to go. I colored the image with copic markers. The background is a background digi image from Hambo too. One of the requirements is that you have stripes on your card. So I penned in stripes on his shirt.

This is a digi image that I colored some time ago. I got it from CC Designs. I colored it with copic markers using the fade technique. I then cut it out using my Spellbinders Nestie Lable number 13. It was on my table because I was trying the technique that Splitcoast has a tutorial on this week. Beate does the tutorial and she makes the most amazing cards. Anyway, the doily that is in the background of this card is the one I was trying to cut out when I broke my Cuttlebug. :( Thank heavens for friends who have a Cuttlebug to sell you. I would be lost without it. It is a die that I got from a company called Cheery Lynn Designs (http://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/) Not sure what I did but it says that it is compatible with Big Shot, Cuttlebug, Wizard, Epic Revolution and Big Kick. After I blew up my cuttlebug I tried it with the Wizard. It worked. I had gone to the Wizard site and watched a few videos on how to cut out different company's dies. They did mention to use a paper spray on the more intricate dies. I tried this and did get it cut. The flowers are from Purple Daisy Designs 717-597-8803. You can use regular punches to cut out these flowers. How great is that

Here I am again. You think stamping the afternoon away would be enough stamping time for me. But when you get new rubber they just have to see ink right away. This is a litte fairy from the UK. Can't you just hear her little British accent? No, well it just must be me. The stamp is from a company called Lili of the Valley Ltd. I got five of their stamps and one is just as cute as the other. I colored this with my copics. I punched around the page with a Martha Stewart punch called rain drops. I like how it leaves a border around the outside. The flowers I got in the bridal section of AC Moore. Then I added a little crystal stickles to the wand and her antenne.

Ok Ok, I have no life. I did three in one afternoon. I colored this image the other day and sense I was in my craft room playing I might as well finish this, right? It is another image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I did a little 3-D ing on this one. I colored two images and then cut out the clothes and head of one of them. Then I raised these cut pieces with foam tape over the main image. Its kind of plain but I kind of like it like that. Can't get too fancy with a boy's card.

Sense I was on a roll I figured out I should make my grandsons birthday card. Happy 10th birthday Dylan!! The image is from Mo's Digital pencil. I love her digi images. It was colored with Copics and cut using Nesties. The paper is some I had in my stash. I run the plaid through my Cuttlebug and embossed it. The little beep, beep, beep is an image that I cut out of a piece of designer paper pad called All About Boys.

Today I have been playing. I saw a card on Selma's Stamping Corner blog and I fell in love with it. So hey I have to try it. I used my cricut to cut out the ovals but I think the next time I will use my Spellbinders Nesties. I think it would be much easier. The flowers are from Heartfelt Creations along with the dies to cut them out. It took me a little while to figure out how to cut them so they would be exact. I had to cut them then stamp. Even then I didn't do so good. The verse is from Quietfire. I used Crystal stickles in the center of the flowers. The leaves are a die I got from Marianne designs. The paper is Almost Amethyst from Stampin Up and the ink is also. I used Basic Grey ink for the verse. Black was too dark. I used a couple Cuttlebug embossing folders to add a little demention.

After seeing the beautiful card that Mary, http://mystampinhide-away.blogspot.com/, recieved from her Secret Sister I was bound and determined to try to make one. The card is called a tri-fold shutter card, I believe. Mine is no where near the beauty that Mary's is but I had a good time trying to figure out how to do it. I also tried to made a watermark. All I can say is I got one on there. lol Now to figure out how to fancy it up. Eek, just remembered I forgot to add shadows to it. I guess it is back to the drawing board for me.

Well I am at it again. I was surfing the web and came across these digital stamps. They are so detailed and cute that I just had to try to color one. I really like the card. I could have done a little better coloring the image especially now that I see it photographed.

The embellishment under the image is two Spellbinders Heartfelt Creations die templates. The branch is a Creatable from Marianne design. The image is one I bought on a site called Funky Kits. The flower I air brushed with Copics and put together, then added a little pearl embellishment in the middle.

Today while I was surfing the web (like always) I came across a blog that has the most beautiful cards. So using her directions I made this card. The image I colored using a technique that I learned the other day on how to use the Copic blending pen to acheve the faded colors. Here is the blog where I found the measurements for the card. James (my grandson) birthday is this Saturday. So sense he thinks he is a superhero these days, I thought I would make him this card. I got the image (digital) from Digital Pencil Too. They are drawn by Mo Manning. If you have ever looked at her site you would have been amazed at her talent. I thought that this image was so fitting. I colored it with Copics. Today I would like to post a picture of the card that I made my husband for Valentines Day. I found this on this site http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/. She has some wonderful tutorials. And also refers you to other sites that have great things also. Everything is punched and shaded with inks. The verse is from Verve. The papers are all Stampin Up. The border is a border that was around the paper. I trimmed it down and sense it only had a border on one edge, I cut a piece of the border and mounted on top of the rest. It is amazing what everyone is doing with those Stampin Up bird and owl punches. They are a lot of fun. I made the flower on this page with the bird punch. The flower is the wing of the bird and the stem is the branch.

Here is a little tent card that I am pleased as punch with. I love the colors and the image. Though when I started, this isn't anything at all what I thought I would do. Now I have to find a catchy phrase to put in the inside. Maybe something like "Flying by to say Hi" or something about when pigs fly. I will figure it out.

The image is a digital one from Hambo Stamps that I colored with Copics. The background paper is one of K & Company. I used a MS border punch at the bottom of the card front. Then I took a strip of the orange cardstock and punched it with the same border punch. I placed the punched border at the top under the punched card front just to fancy up the inside and the orange makes the punched border more visible. I used Spellbinders dies to cut the ovals. The little swirly things at the top and bottom are one of the fancy tags.

Prima inspired Album

This is an album that I saw on the Prima site and it took me for ever to finish. Actually I was just going to see how it looked using a border punch at the top and to try out some new glue. This is a star book and I had never made one before. Well one thing led to another and before I knew it I was well on my way to finishing it. I have stamped verses about friendship on each of the lables. I don't know if you noticed but I have pieces inserted between each page so that I can add pictures on them.

I made a few cards today. One is a thank you note for a beautiful August Wendall dish that I recieved for Christmas. It is so pretty and was so unexpected. I love surprises. The other card is just me fooling around with my border punches. The verse is from Tim Holtz. I really like it. I don't have anyone to give it to but I am sure it will get used---eventually.

What a fun day today!

Spent the afternoon with my Mom crafting and helping put up her Christmas tree!

Two weeks since Mom's surgery and she seems to be getting around pretty well. Before we know it she'll be back running the roads raiding Michaels, AC Moore, Queens Ink and Hobby Lobby. I for one can't wait!
